Prediction of Fatigue Life for a New 2-DOF Compliant Mechanism by Clustering-Based ANFIS Approach

Two-degree-of-freedom (2-DOF) compliant mechanism has some outstanding characteristics in accurate positioning systems. Studying the fatigue life for 2-DOF is a meaningful task to ensure long working. However, study prediction of this not been conducted so far. In article, method developed first time. This combining differential evolution algorithm and adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) with subtractive clustering. The numerical results on two case studies consisting material steel A-36 AL 6061-T6 show that accuracy proposed very high. Compared actual life, root mean square error lies range [1.7, 3.97] cycles Case 1 [2.03, 10.38] 2. statistical test also indicates outperforms traditional using triangular membership function, bell-shape, Gaussian significance level from 0.05 0.1. These demonstrate feasibility approach mechanism.
